In addition to various calculation tools for predicting service life (LCA) and CO2 emissions, TROX has the ability and expertise to perform a wide range of simulations in-house. Simulation is now used everywhere at TROX, especially in the detailed development of new products. Depending on requirements, project tests can also be simulated for customers in order to gain a better understanding of the indoor air flow in complex rooms. Even if a laboratory setup is not possible due to the dimensions or boundary conditions, simulation can help with planning.
In numerical flow simulation, the 3D CAD geometry from the technical drawing sets of our products is resolved in detail and divided into small areas using special networking software. The air flow areas are divided into small geometric shapes, such as cubes. The simulation software then calculates the relevant flow variables such as pressure, temperature and velocities for each of these small air cubes. Depending on the problem, such simulations can take between 20 minutes and even several days.
Our development team at TROX is also distinguished by the fact that we can compare the simulations directly with our measurements in our own laboratories and thus harmonise computer-aided simulation and real measurement. We offer simulation and measurement from a single source.
