DID-E2 active chilled beams, the simple alternative to fan coil units

The use of active chilled beams in rooms with a high thermal load has proven effective. As a part of air-water systems, they guarantee not only comfortable air conditioning, but they also apply the advantages of water as a medium for load dissipation.
The new DID-E2 has a higher output range than its predecessor, the DID-E, and is also suitable for installation into a bulkhead, a solution commonly used in hotels and hospital rooms. The supply air and secondary air openings can be covered with various standard grilles from TROX's product range. The position of the air and water connections allows for shorter lines, while also ensuring quick and simple connection to the building's supply lines, which tend to be located in hallways.

Because no additional fan is needed, the chilled beam is especially quiet. The new nozzle designs offer a large volume flow rate range and low pressure drops.

The optional volume flow controller combined with a control system, such as the X-AIRCONTROL, enables various volume flow rates and power levels to be selected.

For example, users can choose from basic ventilation to prevent moisture, nominal ventilation when the building is occupied, or intensive ventilation to quickly bring the space to room temperature.

Other benefits of the DID-E2 include:

•          Reduced cleaning required for the heat exchanger thanks to sensible cooling
•          Easier access to the device for maintenance and cleaning via secondary air and supply air openings
•          Compact construction; the grilles can easily be attached to the device or into the bulkhead using corresponding mounting              systems
•          Lateral mounting brackets that are suitable for various mounting systems
