It has been approximately a hundred years since Oskar Barnack, an engineer with Leitz in the German town of Wetzlar, invented the first 35 mm camera; it became known as Leica (Leitz+camera). Now the traditional brand has got off to a new start. In 2014 the Leica company opened a new production facility and the Leitz Park headquarters, which are among the most modern headquarters of any company in Germany. Manufacturing and office buildings, an academy and a visitors' centre have been erected on an area of 27,000 square meters in Wetzlar, north of Frankfurt. The architecture of the four buildings blends in perfectly with the surrounding soothing landscape.

Air management inside the buildings is handled by TROX. As many as 16 air handling units with capacities between 4,000 m3/h and 32,950 m3/h provide a pleasant climate throughout. In the production facility, with its sensitive high-tech optical equipment, clean air is even more important than in the other areas. This is where a whole range of TROX filters have been installed. PFG pocket filters as well as KSF and F780 ducted particulate filter units remove even the finest particles from the air.

QL-WV-RO and QL-WH-RO displacement flow diffusers and RFD-R swirl diffusers supply air to the rooms without creating draughts. Sound attenuators of Types MSA, MKA, XSA, TX and CF make the air conditioning a whisper-quiet experience. VAV terminal units ensure smooth operation and interaction of all components. Various units have been installed, such as TVJ EASY, TVR EASY, VFC, VFL, EN, RN and AK. And finally, FK-EU and FKRS-EU fire dampers provide safety in the event of a fire. Other TROX components supply fresh air and protect the entire system against undesired environmental effects.

The striking state-of-the-art complex is not only a working place for 700 people, it is also a world of experience and fun for customers and other visitors to the café, store and exhibitions. They can all spend a pleasant time in a pleasant climate at the Leica headquarters. Thanks to TROX.
