TROX brings fresh air to Frankfurt and presents new developments in the field of system solutions. For this purpose, we have turned our vision into reality: safety, innovation, sustainability - fresh air for everyone, in every room, in every location.
How does that work?
This is what we show you here. We will introduce you to the new generation of ventilation technology, show you pioneering innovations and, of course, the TROX highlights of ISH 2023.
Our focus: technology, safety, comfort. The diverse and complex requirements for buildings used to mean an enormous installation effort. That was once upon a time! TROX Ox is the name of the new solution. Fewer interfaces, simple plug & play connections - digital, clear and intuitive to use.
With TROX Ox the diverse requirements for safety and comfort in buildings are brought together for the first time in a uniform digital system. This is based on the new TROX CONFIGURATOR and new TROX Ox components. The TROX CONFIGURATOR allows central planning of fire protection and ventilation technology over several levels down to the individual room. A configuration wizard supports the selection and design as a virtual assistant. New TROX Ox components form the intelligent interfaces and manage different TROX systems. Simple integration into a central building management system is also possible via various bus systems. The operation and management are carried out via smart touch displays or, optionally, via the integrated web browser. Trend data, alarms and maintenance messages can be viewed centrally here. TROX Ox reduces interfaces between the different applications and components, and significantly simplifies installation and commissioning. All components can be integrated quickly and without effort via Plug&Play. TROX Ox is both downward and upward compatible and, as a scalable system, is suitable for both new buildings and refurbishments. |
With the TROX CONFIGURATOR, central planning of the complete ventilation system becomes very simple. The comprehensive online tool for the design of the new TROX Ox system solutions as well as all other TROX products required for your project is accessed via your personal myTROX account. It enables simplified planning and designing of complex building projects. To support the configuration, there are several wizards as virtual assistants. |

The tested and proven compact VAV terminal units of the round TVE type are entering the next stage of development with the TVE-Q as a square variant. Just like the round TVE, the TVE-Q does not require any external measuring hoses, as the differential pressure is fed directly into the terminal unit via the patented axis. The measuring principle here is also based on the map strategy. All terminal units developed for the circular version are also available for the TVE-Q and, in the case of dynamic transducers, allow the variable direction of airflow from both sides. In addition, the design, which is flow-insensitive, enables installation locations that cannot be realised with standard terminal units. This is because the already compact terminal units do not require any upstream lengths during planning. |

Upon delivery of each volume flow controller, there is an individual QR code on its nameplate. It makes further important data available without much effort, in addition to the regular information on the consignment and the order code. TROX volume flow controllers are not only adjusted to customer values but also tested individually under air. This TROX quality feature is stored in the adjustment protocol and can be retrieved. The myTROX customer portal offers personalised access to these protocols. |

The latest version of the X-CUBE control scores particularly well in the time factor. It starts with the simple and standardised M12 connection between the modules, continues with the intelligent and easily accessible control cabinet architecture and ends with the smart and intuitively operated control panel. And cloud-based control of the components is also possible via a web connection. Instead of complex star-shaped wiring, the modules are now connected via the integrated plug-in BUS wiring including 24 V power supply for the components. This means real Plug&Play according to industrial standards and an enormous reduction of commissioning times. |

For the secure and quick design of X-CUBE units of the X2 and X2 compact, the myTROX portal offers the web-based X-CUBE configurator, which enables optimum unit selection even without expert knowledge. After creation of the projects, they can be directly transferred to the sales department. In addition, the configurator has a life-cycle cost tool, which was developed in cooperation with the E.ON Energy Research Center at RWTH Aachen University. The LCC tool uses a simulation procedure to determine the expected operating costs and CO2 Emissions* for any location worldwide. |
The myTROX online portal offers its users not only a webshop but also personalised access to planning and configuration tools as well as comprehensive information on products, spare parts and much more. Direct access to the complete system documentation of your X-CUBE is now also possible via the X-CLOUD web connection. Upon delivery, each unit has an individual QR code, which enables direct retrieval of all unit-relevant information on all components contained. In addition to the technical data, this also includes detailed installation information and assembly instructions. |

When renovating or retrofitting ventilation systems in educational buildings, low-cost systems that can be quickly put into operation without connection to a central ventilation system are required. Here, the decentralised floor-standing unit X-CUBE SCHOOLAIR S-HV in particular offers a compact stand-alone solution that can be installed quickly even during regular school operation. One single unit is sufficient to efficiently ventilate a fully occupied classroom or meeting room. The integrated CO2-Sensor enables a demand-regulated supply of fresh air. The heat and humidity of the extract air are recirculated via a highly efficient rotary heat exchanger. A heating coil can additionally adjust the air temperature, and powerful filters ensure the reduction of fine dust and pollen. |
The SCHOOLAIR-V-HV is the ideal solution for installation in the façade, allowing the greatest possible design freedom. The slim unit offers the highest performance in the smallest space and ensures the best indoor air quality and temperature in classrooms, teachers' rooms or nursery schools with a demand-oriented fresh air supply. Unique in this category is the integrated rotary heat exchanger, which can recover not only the heat but also the humidity from the extract air. At the same time, the whisper-quiet SCHOOLAIR-V-HV consumes less power than a laptop, and the integrated filters remove fine dust and pollen from the incoming outdoor air. |

The installation of suspended ceilings is becoming less popular, especially in new buildings. The air exchange then often takes place via the corridors directly through the wall. The new CHM and CHS wall diffusers offer the perfect solution here, not only visually but also acoustically, for both supply air and extract air. Because the integrated sound insulation of the wall elements ensures low acoustic values for the user. The multifunctional CHM also has a volume flow limiter and offers variable designs in the choice of the diffuser type. For example, the PURELINE slot diffuser offers particularly clean extract air without dirt deposits on the wall. The wall diffusers are complemented by the CFS supply/extract air combination with duct connection and the CFE crossflow element. These were developed for installation in lightweight partition walls and have effective cross-talk sound insulation. The CFE provides the necessary airflow, especially in rooms that have been subsequently partitioned off. Different designs and variable diffusers faces are available. |
More and more often, air terminal devices are mounted freely suspended. Reasons for this can be of an aesthetic or technical nature. The new adjustable swirl diffuser RFD-V is optimised for this task. The special shape of the swirl blades in conjunction with the wider discharge nozzle enables horizontal discharge in cooling mode and thus prevents draughts. However, if the air brought in shall be warmer than the room air, the supply air must be brought into the room vertically against the buoyancy. The new RFD-V achieves this through its automatic adjustment, which enables large penetration depths. The mechanism reacts automatically to temperature changes in the supply air, requires no power supply and is concealed in the plenum box. |
The small round swirl diffusers AIRNAMIC in nominal widths of 160 and 250 mm allow perfect air supply even in the lower volume flow range. They have three-dimensional contoured plastic blades that not only ensure high induction, but also significantly improve acoustics due to an upstream sawtooth profile. A newly developed connection spigot with only three mounting points considerably simplifies installation in the various ceiling systems. This is because now the diffuser face can simply be inserted and locked into the spigot via a bayonet fixing. And the clever design with a flat tapered edge brings aesthetics to any ceiling. |
The TFC supply air casing is a HEPA filter air diffuser for clean rooms. During the development of the latest generation, our customers' wishes according to surveys were directly taken into account. For example, safe filter replacement has been significantly simplified by a special press-on frame. Initial installation of the air diffuser is now also possible without tools thanks to a quick-release fastener. An optimised measuring tube, together with the integrated aerosol feed in the spigot and a removable cross bar, facilitates clean air side particle measurement and leakage testing, directly on site. Furthermore, a new flange system allows the casing to be connected to any ceiling system. Different seal designs also allow the use of almost any filter panel profile. |
The TFEA extract air casing for clean rooms, together with the TFC type, forms a system for supply and extract air applications. First, the TFEA fits into the same ceiling openings. Furthermore, almost all diffuser faces available for the TFC type can also be used here for a uniform ceiling design. The TFEA has the same leak tightness class and can be operated either with or without a filter panel. The casing is available with side (round/angular) or top connection. Here, too, the new flange system enables tight installation in any ceiling system with inside or outside front diffuser. |
If fire dampers are used in conjunction with outside air inlets, the temperature difference to the interior can lead to condensate formation on the damper casing. In the long term, the condensate produced can, for example, lead to moisture damage to the building structure, which is often only noticed at a late stage. With the newly developed ODA version of the TROX FK2-EU and FKR2-EU, this is effectively avoided. All-round vapour diffusion-tight insulation provides the necessary insulation for mortar installation in walls and ceilings. The coating of the blades and surfaces provides additional protection for the motorised ODA dampers. |

For smoke extraction systems with stratification, high fresh air volumes are required. Turbulences of the the toxic flue gases must be avoided in this process. A maximum of 1 m/s airflow speed is permissible here. With the WAX-LI, TROX offers a unique low-pulse supply air system, using only small openings in the building. In the event of smoke extraction, the WAX-LI system developed together with the TH Mittelhessen can supply up to 25,000 m3/h of fresh air with a wall opening of only 1 m². Thereby, the thermal insulation of the building envelope is maintained and the energy demand is minimised. An inflating textile hose provides the necessary increase in surface area while reducing the airflow velocity to below 1m/s at the same time. A natural airflow would require a wall opening of more than 7 m² for the same effect. |
With X-CLOUD MBE, the service subsidiary TROX HGI offers a comprehensive customer portal for cloud-based management and control of all automation systems located in the building. The X-Cloud MBE (Management and Bedieneinrichtung = Management and operating device) is a comprehensive and scalable service tool for building control, building management and energy management. The X-EDGE controller is required for secure access to the portal. Monitoring and remote access to all integrated system components is possible via the browser-based graphical user interface. Depending on the contract level, users have access to extensive 24/7 services from TROX HGI - from a simple maintenance contract with warranty extension to comprehensive remote monitoring. |

In daycare centres, schools and other educational institutions, mechanical ventilation has been proven to provide better learning conditions and improve the overall well-being. The CO2 content decreases, the ability to concentrate increases. Higher performance is achieved. In Denmark, even a positive effect on the country's GDP has been proven through higher productivity and fewer absences. Decentralised ventilation systems from TROX are not only particularly suitable for cost-effective retrofitting in school buildings, but can also be aesthetically integrated into the architecture of new buildings. They provide filtered, clean fresh air, recover the heat from the extract air and keep the room's humidity at a healthy level. Since the windows can also remain closed in winter and the output of the units automatically adjusts to the occupancy, the building's operating costs are reduced. |
