In the ICKA's large test room, air technology tests in the field of control technology are performed at mobile measuring stations. The control technology area covers both tests on variable and constant volume flow controllers with a wide range of attachments as well as tests on pure volume flow measuring units.
The tests according to DIN EN 12589 on control units include, for example, measuring the pressure loss as well as the control tolerance and the control behaviour under different upstream conditions. Depending on the set-up, the laboratory equipment enables volume flow measurements for air volumes of up to 14,000 m3/h.
In addition, leakage tests are carried out on the control units in accordance with DIN EN 1751 in order to determine the casing and closed blade air leakage of the products. Furthermore, the leakage of the individual products is also tested in accordance with DIN EN 1751 on a specially constructed test rig at the production facility in Anholt.
As an additional quality control of the standard products, they are subject to air tests on special VAV test rigs at the Anholt plant and at other international production sites with regard to control response and control accuracy.
Other possible laboratory measurements in the ICKA test room include the testing of mixing boxes (e.g. mixing efficiency) or the testing of decentralised ventilation units (e.g. volume flows; suction/pressure behaviour in accordance with VDMA 24390) and on components for central ventilation and air conditioning units.
Using our specially constructed test rigs, standard products are aerodynamically tested at various production sites, both nationally and internationally, with regard to control response and control accuracy, as well as damper and casing air leakage (in accordance with DIN EN 1751).
The VAV test rigs are used to parameterise, test and adjust variable and constant volume flow controllers with various attachments as well as volume flow measuring devices. This involves a factory setting of customised operating data and an individual appliance test under air. This process is used to check the quality of each individual control unit at the end of the production process.
The Universal Leakage test rig (ULPS) at the Anholt plant is used to test the damper and casing air leakage of control units in accordance with DIN EN 1751 at several operating points. Tests with a leakage measuring range of 0.008 l/s to 300 l/s and a test pressure of 100 Pa to 2000 Pa are possible.
Additional leakage test rigs for various products are part of the plants' quality assurance. This ensures the consistently high quality of our products.
