As a uniform and reproducible test method for testing coarse and fine dust filters, the international standard DIN EN ISO 16890 "Air filters for general ventilation" describes the requirements for particle air filters, the test procedure and the test rig for measurement. Part 4 of this standard provides for neutralisation of the filters to be tested using isopropanol (IPA). A corresponding conditioning cabinet is therefore used in the testing process

CONDITIONING CABINET

In the neutralisation chamber, the electrical charges in the filters to be tested are neutralised using isopropanol. The tested filter is then measured again in accordance with DIN EN ISO 16890. Only the mechanical separation efficiency of the medium is then measured.

Pocket and cassette filters, filter pockets and flat media can be electrostatically neutralised in the conditioning cabinet.
