The International Centre for Fire Protection is a testing and research & development centre for greater safety in the field of fire and smoke protection technology.

Furthermore, it conducts basic research and materials testing and works closely with universities and research establishments throughout the world. RESEARCH FOR IMPROVED SAFETY

The centrepiece of the International Centre for Fire Protection Technology is a fire test furnace measuring 4 x 5 x 5 m. This is large enough to test even the huge tunnel dampers that are used for smoke extraction in underground transport systems.

In Europe's most modern fire protection laboratory, TROX conducts fire tests primarily for the fire protection classification of building products for ventilation and air conditioning systems in accordance with national and international standards.

In addition, scientific tests outside of standard specifications can also be performed, to investigate specific fire protection issues. The technical facilities at the ICB are also suitable for expert analyses and statements.
