VENTILATION AND AIR CONDITIONING TECHNOLOGY

Here you will find an overview of our test equipment for ventilation and air conditioning technology. In general, the ventilation and air-conditioning laboratories listed below are suitable for measuring air diffusers, air-water systems such as chilled ceilings, active and passive chilled beams and decentralised ventilation units.

In the laboratories, measurements are performed to determine basic technical data on all types of air diffusers in accordance with DIN EN 12238, DIN EN 12239, DIN EN 16645 and DIN EN 15726 for the creation of catalogue data. Comfort data can also be determined in accordance with DIN EN ISO 7730. With the help of smoke machines, the air distribution and the aerodynamic behaviour of our components can be visualised with smoke and documented using the latest video technology. The catalogue data for air-water systems are determined on the test rig in accordance with DIN EN 14240. The acoustic testing of air conditioning components takes place in the TROX acoustics laboratory.

TEST RIG FOR CHILLED CEILINGS

This installation is used to determine the cooling capacity of active and passive water cooling systems in accordance with the standards DIN EN 14240, DIN EN 14518 and DIN EN 15116. This test rig is also used to drive forward new developments, determine catalogue data and carry out measurements as proof of performance for large-scale projects in accordance with customer requirements.

Size of the test room:

  • Clear floor area: 4m x 4m
  • Clear height: 2.7m

The following physical dimensions are measured:

  • Air volume flow rate
  • Primary air temperature
  • Water flow rate
  • Flow and return temperature of the water
  • Surface temperature of all surrounding walls
  • Room air temperature at three heights above the floor (1.7m; 1.1m; 0.1m)
  • Room or globe temperature as reference temperature electrical power of the thermal load simulators
