KA2-EU

KITCHEN EXTARCT AIR DAMPER BASED ON THE FK2-EU

TROX has set itself the task of turning the FK2-EU into a KA2-EU kitchen exhaust air damper! This specifically reduces or prevents the risk of uncontrolled grease fires in the ventilation duct and builds on the proven FK2-EU. The KA2-EU convinces with its simple installation and unrivalled durability, which has been proven in over 10,000 movement cycles. But there's even more to it! Installation independent of the airflow direction and an easy-to-connect actuator, for example, are further features that significantly simplify commissioning.

WAX-LI

THE ENERGY-EFFICIENT SUPPLY SOLUTION

For smoke extract systems with stratification, high outdoor air volumes are required. Turbulences of the toxic flue gases must be avoided in this process. (max. 1 m/s supply airflow velocity).

With the WAX-LI, TROX offers a low-pulse supply air system that can supply up to 25,000 m³/h of outdoor air with a wall opening of just 1 m². This preserves the thermal insulation and minimises the energy requirement. An inflating textile hose provides the necessary increase in surface area while reducing the airflow velocity to less than 1 m/s. A natural airflow would require a wall opening of over 7 m².

MAXIMUM SAFETY IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE

The introduction of DIN EN 12101-6:2022 has created new standards for pressure differential systems and their components. This standard uses precise test methods and system specifications to ensure that escape and rescue routes are effectively protected in the event of a fire.

Our TROX X-FANS PDS units fully comply with the requirements of DIN EN 12101-6:2022 and our products fulfil the new standard in all aspects:

The hot gas control damper was successfully tested in accordance with Annex B.
The fan and frequency inverter comply with the specifications in Appendix C.
The system test in accordance with Appendix A confirms this: Our X-FANS PDS system fulfils all requirements without adjustments.

EXHIBITION HALL 12 TRADE FAIR IN FRANKFURT: INTEGRATED FIRE PROTECTION SOLUTIONS FROM TROX

The new Hall 12 at Messe Frankfurt offers both aesthetic and functional aspects and was developed in collaboration with kadawittfeld-architektur. It comprises 97,620 m² of walkable area and 33,600 m² of exhibition space, which is the equivalent of around six football pitches. The hall has a constructed area of almost 340,000 cubic metres and can accommodate up to 24,000 visitors.

The equipment includes an advanced ventilation system that exchanges over 2 million cubic metres of air per hour and dissipates up to 12 million kW of thermal loads. Two thirds of the heating and cooling capacity is provided by air-water systems, which increases energy efficiency.

The fire and smoke protection system is digitally networked and ensures the safety of visitors. Sensors detect fires quickly and initiate suitable countermeasures, such as blocking air ducts and activating sprinkler and smoke extraction systems. Intelligent smoke extraction systems in the high foyers and stairwells ensure smoke-free escape routes.
